We went to Mark and Katie's for a little get together with Marks family and our family last weekend. It was so much fun, Katie cooked lots of yummy food and even had a very nice game of dirty santa! Thanks for such a fun time, the boys always love seeing their Uncle Mark and Aunt Kate!

Some Pre-Christmas Festivities!

A couple of weeks ago, we took the boys to Kingston for a candy cane hunt. The candy cane hunt was really just for Drew, but Alex definitely had fun cheering on his big brother:) The hunt and games were supposed to be outside, but since it was a rainy day they ended up moving all the festivities indoors, it turned out to be really fun anyway. We had a great time, and there was even a surprise visit from Santa!

Wow, I thought it was hard to get a good picture with one child, it is definitely harder with two! I think at some point we talked about just sending out a card with the dogs on it because they are the only ones that would cooperate:) It has been pretty funny looking through some of our attempts though! Anyway, I think we managed to get one worthy of a Christmas card in there somewhere:) I'm really excited this year because we have decided to get our cards from Shutterfly. A Little Visit to Aunt Kate's and Uncle Mark's!

A couple of weeks ago, we went to visit Mark and Katie in their new house. The weekend they moved in, our household was a little under the weather, so we weren't able to go help. I was pretty bummed about that, so I couldn't wait to go for a visit! We had a great time! We went to Lucky Ladd Farms while we were there and loved it. They had pumpkins, animals, slides, sand, hayrides and other random stuff. Needless to say, Drew had a great time. We are all glad to get to spend some time with Mark and Katie, and get to see their beautiful house....and it was SO beautiful! Thanks guys for letting us come visit, we can't wait to send the kids without us:)!

Dollywood and Wilderness at the Smokies!!

We decided to take a little family trip to Sevierville the first of October. We joked that this would be a trial run to see if we could all stand eachother to go somewhere for a week in the summer:) Well, we had a great time! We went to Dollywood and stayed at Wilderness at the Smokies. Drew had a great time at both places. I would highly recommend the Wilderness park, they pretty much have something for every age. I think Grandad may have had the best time out of all of us there:) We were all pretty exhausted by the end of the weekend, but it was well worth it. I of course took a gazillion pictures, but tried REALLY hard just to pick a few to put on here. I know its more than a few, but I did my best people:)

It has been so long since I've posted anything! I thought I would give up blogging, but I've changed my mind:) I thought I would just do a marathon of posts, so if you get bored or tired of looking, you can always look at some today and come back tomorrow and look at the rest:) These are just a few random ones of the boys. Life is so fun with them right now! Drew NEVER shuts up,(people say he gets that from Bradley) and says the funniest things, and Alex is growing and changing so much so fast! Its also pretty amazing at how much they love each other! Drew can't wait to see Alex when he gets up, and Alex thinks Drew is hilarious!

Friday morning, Drew and I went to the zoo with my Granny Betty, and my two sisters Marlana and Gracie. When Granny first asked us to go, I was worried that it would be super hot, but it really wasn't that bad. Drew hasn't been to the zoo since he was about 1, so he had a blast. He was really excited to have Gracie there, he drug her down the slides and through the sprinklers about 100 times....I was glad to have her there too, I'm too old to do all that sliding:) I didn't think Alex would really enjoy riding in his car seat in the heat for that long, so Granny Doris stayed with him while we went. Here are a few pictures from the day.

I realized that I hadn't posted anything in a while, so I thought I would just post a few random pictures of the boys. Its pretty funny how with your second child you don't have your camera attached to you at all times. I definitely have to make a point to snap pictures of Alex each month! I don't want Alex to think that I liked Drew better because I have a million pictures of him and only a few of him. Although, I'm not really sure that boys care about that kind of thing:)

We just got back from our annual beach trip. This year was obviously a little different because we had another little one to add to the mix. As usual we had a great time! Drew is at a perfect age to play in the sand and really enjoy getting in the water. Alex, on the other hand does pretty much nothing other than eat and sleep right now so we really didn't have to keep much of an eye on him:) Thanks Matt and Sarah for letting us go and enjoy your beach house and some great company....even if it did delay you all having kids for another 4 years:) Of course I took over 200 pictures but I tried to keep myself under control and just post a few.

It is almost impossible to get Drew to smile for a pictures these days, especially when you interrupt his playing:)

Well, I think I am starting to get the hang of having two kids, starting is the key word here:) So far, Alex is a great baby. He does like to eat a lot, which doesn't allow for momma to get lots of sleep, but I am trying to remind myself how temporary this part is! Drew is adjusting really well to Alex, he has probably had an easier time than we have:) He loves to get in the floor and talk to him, and kiss on him. Of course, he gets right in his face and talks to him like he is a 75 year old deaf man....who knows why he thinks he has to yell at him, but it is pretty funny to watch! Anyway, I just wanted to post a few pictures of the boys from the last month. I have to work a little harder at keeping up with my blog now days, but I'm going to try.

Welcome Alex Jacob Stooksbury!!

Baby Alex made his arrival about 2.5 weeks early. It is a good thing he did, he weighed in at 8lbs 1oz and 21in. long. I thought I would share a little about how the day went. I went to the doctor on Wednesday morning the 12th, and when he did an exam, I was 7cm dilated, keep in mind I was 5cm 2 weeks prior to this. Well, since I wasn't actually in labor, having regular contractions, he sent me on my merry way. By the time I picked up Drew, and we had a little Chick-fil-a for lunch my contractions were pretty regular, about 5 mins apart. Anyway, to shorten things alittle, I headed to the hospital, got there at about 1:30, and had Alex at 4:28. Everything went great, and we had a healthy little boy!

Things have obviously been pretty crazy with 2 little boys, but we are all adjusting pretty well! Drew is warming up to Alex more and more each day, he wants to hold him all the time...very sweet! I'm pretty sure I forgot how sleep deprived you are with a newborn....please forgive me if this post doesn't make sense:) I just thought I would share a couple of pictures from the hospital.

Birthday Party A Few Days Early!!!

Drew will be turning 2 on April 9th, but we celebrated his birthday a few days early. This year we decided that we would keep it pretty simple with a cookout at our house with some of our family. We had such a fun time...it is always nice to spend time with family, and the weather was definitely an added bonus! Here are a few pictures from the party, you know I use the word few loosely:) I can't believe Drew will be 2 in a few days:(

This past Saturday, Bradley Drew and I met Mark and Katie at the Chattanooga Aquarium. We have been talking about going for the longest time, and finally just decided to go. I'm so glad we did, we all had a great time. Drew loves, loves his Aunt Kate and Uncle Mark, so it was good to spend some time with them. Thanks guys for meeting us there! Love ya'll!

I haven't updated in a while, so I thought I would just post some random pictures from the last month or so.

Drew's friend Sydney's 2nd birthday party. I'm pretty sure "Nydney" is Drew's favorite friend, he says her name ALL the time....of course he could just like saying Nydney:)

Drew was helping his Daddy work on a project for his big boy room. He loves helping Bradley with all kinds of things, especially building things and taking out the trash!

Drew was walking Sydney to the door after a night of pizza, playing and hanging out. I'm just glad it is a long time before he does that for real!

We were so excited that it actually snowed in Knoxville! Drew was very anxious to get out in it. Of course it takes forever to get him all bundled up, but today it was worth it...we stayed out for close to an hour! We finally decided to make him come in when his little cheeks were as red as an apple:) Of course he still wasn't ready! Here are a few from the day...

Bradley and I went to the Doctor for our 20 week ultrasound on Wednesday, and Drew is going to have a little brother! We could not be more excited! We have a friend that is an OB resident at UT, and she let us come see her the week before Christmas to do a quick check, but I wanted to wait until after the "official" ultrasound to tell the world:) Continue to pray for us as we get ready to add a sweet baby boy to our family!

We spent Christmas eve at Papaw and Granny Skidmore's house with my mom's side of the family. This year was definitely more fun for Drew! I still don't think he completely understands all this present stuff, but how much do you need to know to get presents right:)

Drew got a little spiderman 4 wheeler from Granny and Papaw! He was a little unsure at first, but finally got the hang of it. It is battery powered and only goes 2 mph, but don't worry he will have a helmet!

After we had Christmas morning at our house, we headed to Rockwood to spend the day with Bradley's side of the family. We went to his Mamaw and Papaw's for lunch with the whole family, and then back to Granna and Grandad's. This year, we spent the night at Granna and Grandad's with Mark, Katie, their dog Molly and our dogs. It was definitely a house full, but we had a great time! We ate, opened gifts and played games...three of my favorite things to do!

THANKSGIVING AND A LITTLE EXTRA

Thanksgiving was great this year! We had lunch at our house...of course I didn't do the turkey or ham:) It was great just spending time with our family and friends over the holiday weekend. Drew was really excited that it was our turn to have Uncle Mark and Aunt Katie for Thanksgiving! I didn't take many pictures, but here are a few I did.

WE'RE PREGNANT!!!

I just wanted to officially tell everyone that we are going to be parents again! We are about 14 weeks, and baby #2 is due May 30th. We are super excited to have a new addition to the family! I think we are most excited for Drew to have a little brother or sister. This pregnancy has been completely different than with Drew, so we'll see...who knows what that really means though! I'll keep you posted!

Friday night, our friends Paige and Peter had a fun bonfire complete with lots of yummy food, and smores. I was a little nervous about my wild 18 month old running around a fire, but we made it home with no burns:) Thanks guys for hosting, we had a great time!

Ok, this is Drew in his puppy costume. When we got home from Sam and Kristie's we pulled out our second costume that a women Brad works with let us borrow. Drew was much happier to be a puppy!! Thanks Angela,!! He loved the way his belly jiggled and loved it that his feet were all warm and dry!

We were really surprised at how he got the concept of trick or treating! What was really funny is that when we would leave the house and get to the end of the driveway, Drew would try to go back to the same house and get more candy. Brad said that it was because he new candy at that house was a sure thing and it may not be at the next house:)

JUST A LITTLE GETAWAY!!

A couple of weeks ago, Bradley and I got to take an extended weekend getaway! We had been planning it for what seemed like forever, and changed our destination about 100 times! Our original plan was to go to Chicago since neither of us have ever been. Brad's sister Katie has been lots of times, and really recommended that we go. However, we waited until pretty close to the trip to book it, and we were able to see what the weather was going to be. When we saw that it was going to be in the 40's and raining the entire time, we decided to change our plans. We went to Savannah for 2 nights and then on to Charleston for 2 more. It was so great, they are both beautiful places. One of the highlights was getting to eat at Paula Dean's restaurant...one of the pictures are of the chicken pot pie that Bradley got, very impressive! We also got to take a cute little carriage tour around Charleston...you know Bradley loved that! I've never walked so much in 4 days though! Thanks Granna and Grandad for Keeping Drew for us, we know he had a great time! I think they stayed just as busy as we did:)

A Wedding And A Playhouse!!

This weekend we had a wedding to go to in Nashville, so Drew got to spend the night with his Granna and Grandad. We dropped Drew off on Saturday and were surprised to see that his Grandad had built him something fun to play in! It was going to be raining all weekend, so he thought what better way to occupy a 17 month old, than with a playhouse made out of refrigerator boxes. Well, he was right, the new playhouse was a huge hit...I think they were ALL in that thing the whole time!! Drew is pretty destructive though, Grandad was already having to make repairs after about 30mins:) Thanks Granna and Grandad for keeping Drew for us, we know he had a blast! We left early enough to stop in Murfreesboro to spend some time with Mark and Katie...sad, no pictures! Mark grilled us some yummy burgers, and we watched the UT game....we were sad about the loss, but pleased with the effort! After all that, it was off to Lara and Rob's wedding. She was gorgeous as usually, and the wedding went great! The rain even held off for the first time all week, I know they were thrilled!

Bradley's office hosts a Boomsday party every year, so this year we decided to take Drew with us. His office is right on the river, so it is nice to enjoy the fireworks without being down in all the crowd. Of course, by the time the fireworks started Drew was completely exhausted and we only stayed for a few minutes of them. Even though we left early, we still had a great time!

This weekend Bradley and I took Drew for his first haircut! It went much better than I thought it would. I think I had a harder time than Drew did:) The girl that cut it, was really sweet and really quick, so that was definitely a good thing.

For the last 3 years, we have gone to stay at a friends beach house in North Carolina, and this year was no exception. This year we had about 12 people, two of them being babies so it was lots of fun. I was a little nervous about how Drew would do for the nine hour drive, but he actually did really good. We did leave at 3am, so I'm sure this had something to do with it:) Drew had a great time, it took him a little bit to get used to having sand all over him, but after he did, he loved it. There isn't a lot to do there, so we pretty much just laid on the beach all day, and had family dinner time at night...my kind of vacation! I did finish the Twlight series while we were there....love love love it! The guys even tried surfing a few days, but I don't think the waves weren't quite right...at least that's what they said:) Here is a little slide show of or vacation. I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't have been possible to take one more picture of Drew on the beach!!

We were at the beach this year on Bradley's birthday, so we had a family celebration the Friday before we left. We all had dinner, and then it was back to our house for some cake, ice cream and presents!

I can't believe how long its been since I've posted anything! I thought I would do just a little Drew updating! Well, he is growing like a weed....seriously I can't believe he is 16 months old. He is into everything of course. He is talking tons, and most of the time you can even understand him:). He loves to run and he tries his hardest to jump, but he just can't seem to get off the ground...this one is pretty funny! He knows lots of body parts, but his favorite one is his belly button. A while back we were at the pool, and Drew went over to a woman laying out in the sun (a stranger) and actually stuck his finger in her belly button and then proceeded to show her his belly button....I was only a little embarrassed:) He loves giving kisses, but watch out because they are all open mouth! Well, I could go on and on, but I guess I'll spare you all the details!! Here are a couple of pictures from the last month.

OUR 1ST TRIP TO THE ZOO

Bradley was off this Wednesday, so we decided to take a little family trip to the zoo! It was so much fun! I really didn't know if Drew would get into it, but to my surprise he really loved getting to see all of the animals. I'm sure his favorite part was the petting zoo, he particularly loved the fluffy sheep. When we got into the petting zoo part, the man at the entrance gave my 14 month old child instructions on what to do, and of course a brush to brush all the animals...not to worry I took the brush from him right away:) The first thing he told Drew was no running and no screaming...of course I laughed because you know the first thing Drew did was run toward all the sleeping animals screaming! Anyway, we had a great time and I'm sure we will be revisiting the Knoxville Zoo very soon!

I'm pretty sure he was a little confused about why he was sitting on a saddle!

We have been spending as much time out in the sun, and in the pool as possible. This summer has been so much fun with Drew! He really loves being outside, and is really getting the hang of playing in the pool. It's definitely exhausting to keep up with him when we go swimming, he gets in the pool and out of the pool about a hundred different times! Needless to say the days of just laying out and reading a book are long gone for this momma! Just thought I would post a couple of pool pictures!

THE BIG # 7!!!!

Today is mine and Bradley's 7th anniversary! I can't believe that it has been that long. When you factor in all the years that we dated before we were married, we have been together for longer than most of our high school students have been alive...oh my we're old ! I couldn't ask for a better husband, God is definitely good! We always try to do a little something fun for our anniversary, and this year was no different...well, it was a little different. Bradley thought it would be fun for us to hike Mt. LeConte, yes you heard right, an 11 mile up rocks, over creeks and through caves hike! For those of you that know us, you know that we are not really hikers! When I told Bradley that we might want to start off with something a little easier for our first hike, he replied "you've gotta go big, or not at all"...have you ever heard of such nonsense. Well anyway, he talked me into to it, and it was amazing! Just to be able to admire God's creation in a way that we usually don't get to was great! It was hard, but definitely worth it at the end! Pretty much the whole way up the mountain, I kept asking myself what survivorman would do if he ran into a bear, a snake, or a swarm of killer bees:) We stayed in Gatlinburg on Friday night, and ate at the Pancake Pantry, our favorite place for breakfast on Saturday morning, ...yum yum! Thanks Granna and Grandad for keeping Drew so we could celebrate our anniversary! Here are a few pictures from our big hiking adventure! Actually there are more than a few, but I just couldn't help myself!

My sister-in-law Katie got married last weekend in Nashville! Bradley, Drew and myself were all in the wedding, so needless to say it was a pretty crazy weekend. I think I was more nervous about this wedding than I was my own because Drew was in it, but he actually did much better than I thought he would do! All he needed was a little help from his dadda getting down the aisle, and a fun rock to play with once he got down there! I have to say that Katie was great the whole weekend, very calm and laid back...not a bridezilla at all! It was probably due to the fact that she had her handy dandy clipboard of to-do's with her at every step....those of you that know Katie aren't surprised that she was the most organized bride ever! Anyway, the wedding was beautiful, and she was the most gorgeous bride ever....the groom didn't look too shabby either:) The place where the wedding was held was amazing, it wouldn't even do it justice for me to try to describe it, so I won't! Bradley and I are so excited to have Mark as part of the family, and Drew is so excited about having a new uncle! Love you guys and can't wait to see you soon! Drew is officially walking! Well, for the most part anyway. He won't just stand up and go on his own yet, but loves to walk back and forth to us, and he'll go when we stand him up and give him some encouragement. He is still a little wobbly and still a little scared to just take off alone....I'm sure he'll be brave enough soon! It is so funny because he is so proud of himself as you will be able to see in the videos! We definitely have his Grandad and Granna to thank for him taking off. They got him a little chair for his birthday and he started out using it as his launching pad...who knew all he needed was his own chair! Enjoy our new milestone!

Thursday was Drew's actual first birthday, so we decided to celebrate as a family at Chick-Fil-A! Drew loves their nuggets, and I love their milkshakes, so we thought it would be a perfect place to celebrate the special day:)

Well, after our late night out on Friday, we had a shower for my good friend Rachel on Saturday morning. She is having a sweet baby girl in June! We are so excited to meet miss Caroline! I just wanted to post a couple of pictures from the shower.

Friday night, Sarah, Paige, Jennifer and myself decided that we would act like we were young again and go see David Cook at the Square Room downtown. A couple of weeks ago, I went to Nashville for Katie's bachelorette party. We had dinner at this super nice restaurant, 1808 grille, and then headed back to one of her friends apartments to open gifts and enjoy some yummy desserts! Okay, let me just tell you about the storms that came through town that day! When I pulled up at the restaurant and got out of the car for the valet to take it, I heard all of these sirens. He said that I made it just in time, and I was like just in time for what? He said don't you hear the tornado sirens! I almost fainted, he said they meant that a tornado has just touched down in the city, or somewhere close! I called Brad and told him that I was going to chain myself to the pipes in the ladies room until it passed:) Well, we made it safely through the storm and had a great time that night! I'm so excited for Mark and Katie...less than 2 weeks!

Our friends Andy and Rachel had their baby 2 weeks ago Thursday! I know I'm pretty behind on this post, but we got a new camera and I'm still working on getting my pictures downloaded! I was trying to clean the kitchen today, and my child which only napped for 30 mins this afternoon, decided that he needed to help. I think he felt bad for me that I wasn't able to get my afternoon chores done because he didn't want to sleep:) I'm pretty sure he was making a bigger mess, than he was helping...at least he was keeping himself occupied!

He was really inspecting them to make sure they were squeaky clean...I've taught him well!

Also notice that he really was unloading the dishwasher, all of my clean utensils were on the floor!

Drew's New Favorite Thing!

For the last several weeks, Drew has found his love for our stairs! Every time I turn around, he is headed upstairs. It wouldn't be that big of a deal, but he doesn't know how to come down them, just up them! I was getting supper out of the oven the other day, and went to check on Drew in the living room, and he was already upstairs...he has his dadda's speed! I know Grandparents, I will put a gate up! It seems like there are tons of new babies about to arrive very soon! I am so excited for Drew to have some new little playmates! I thought I would just post some pictures from the last couple of showers!

Well, we started off Valentine's day with a wedding shower for Mark and Katie. It was so much fun, and Katie got some really great stuff! I think everyone was most impressed with her boysenberry kitchenaid mixer...it was super cute! After the shower, the whole family zipped back to Knoxville to enjoy a little UT basketball...one of my very favorite things to do! It was Mark's first time at a game, so that made it even more fun! Then it was off to TGI Friday's for a romantic dinner...well, if you call dinner with 4 other people romantic:) Then we ended the night with a quick stop to Krispy Kreme and then back to our house to enjoy those hot doughnuts! Drew did not go to the game and dinner with us, Papaw and Granny were sweet enough to keep him while we enjoyed our night out on the town! We had such a good time!! It was so pretty yesterday, we decided to make a family trip to the park. Drew and I have both been sick, so it was so good just to get out of the house! Drew absolutely loves to swing, so we had a great time! I can't wait for summer so we can play outside more often! There's just something about getting outside that does a mom good! I know I went a little overboard on the swing pictures, but I just loved all of them! We are definitely going to have to invest in a swing set for Drew!

He didn't really know what to think of the slide, I think it's pretty obvious by his expression!

We had some friends over for the super bowl, and if you can believe it I only took one picture! Austin, Eli and Maggie decided that they would rather watch Homeward Bound in our bed upstairs, so Staci took them up to watch....I'm pretty sure she just wanted an excuse to watch some of the movie! I thought this was such a cute one!

These pictures were actually taken that night with my camera, but from Austin and Eli the 4 year old twins....I think they do a better job than me! There were about 70 other pictures on the camera, but they were mostly of the floor, ceiling, the feet and arms of people, etc.

Doesn't this look natural:) Bradley really didn't want me too close to the baby!

These are some pictures of the huge snow we got last week! It was so pretty! Drew had a pretty nasty cold last week, so I was an overprotective mom and didn't let him get out in the snow and play....I know, sometimes I'm over the top!

We were trying to get his PJ's on him for bed, but as you can see we were having a little trouble! Drew's Aunt Kate hasn't been able to see him crawl yet, so she was on me about posting a video so she could see. These are just a couple of pictures and videos of us playing this morning when Drew got up. As you will see, he loves is yellow ball, and his golf ball! I would like to think that when he says ba ba ba ba, that he is actually talking about them, but I'm sure it's a little early for that...a mom can assume what she wants right?!?! The first video is a little long, but I don't know how to shorten it without deleting the whole video...have I said that I'm not a tech person!

This one was actually from yesterday. He crawled under his jumperoo, and got himself stuck! Every time he would try to get out, he would hit his head on the seat, which obviously by the look on his face did not make him very happy!

He loves to dump all of his toy out and find the perfect one!

LUNCH WITH THE GIRLS & 9 MONTH CHECK-UP

Today Drew and I had lunch with Sarah, Jennifer, Elisa and Anna Kate. It has been crazy with the holidays, so it's been a while since we have all been able to get together. It was good just to get to catch up for a few minutes, and I literally mean a few minutes! Between feeding Drew, feeding myself, chasing Drew around, holding Drew, and keeping Drew occupied, there is little time to just relax and talk...oh, the joys of being a mother! After we ate, I had to rush out to get Drew to the doctor for his 9 month check-up. Everything went good, it was a no shot day....yeah! His stats were: HC: 45.7cm-62%, Length: 29.5in-85%, and Weight: 22lbs-72%. So, he is still super tall, but slimming down a little, if you remember he weighed almost 21 lbs at his 6 month check-up....maybe not a linebacker after all! But overall, he is still a big boy! It was fun to hear all of the people food he can start to eat now, he really is growing up...awe, there's the mom coming out in me:) Anyway, here are a few pictures from lunch! VIVA LAS VEGAS!!

Bradley and I got the opportunity to go to Las Vegas January 1-4 with our great friends Andy, Rachel, Matt and Sarah. Well, actually pretty much the whole Arendt family (Andy and Rachel's family) went too. Andy's dad flew in from Texas to meet us, his brother was home from medical school, and their "daughter" Jamie was out of school, so they all came too. Andy and Rachel have been Jamie's legal guardian's for a little over a year now, so we have all gotten a little glance into the future when it comes to being parents of a teenager! Anyway, we had so much fun! It was definitely hard to be away from Drew for 4 days, but so good to enjoy some time with Brad and our friends being single again....doesn't that sound just terrible!! Anyway, Drew was just fine without us, he spent Thursday and Friday with Papaw and Granny, and Saturday and Sunday with his Grandad, Granna and Aunt Kate. Thanks guys for taking such good care of him! It was so nice not to have to worry about him while we were gone! Las Vegas is definitely an interesting place, the people are nuts!! I could have just sat and people watched all day! The things people were wearing, and they way they acted...oh my! I know they do not do that at home....well, at least I hope not!! I'm pretty sure we won't be taking any family trips to Vegas! Besides the crazy people, the city itself is pretty neat. The buildings are massive, and just over the top! I just wanted to post some picture of our little getaway!

CHRISTMAS 2008!!!

Well, this was Drew's first Christmas, and such an exciting one! Drew got so many great gifts, we have know idea where we are going to store them all...every parents dilema I'm sure! It was such a crazy time, as it always is with so many different families to visit. I'll try not to get to out of control with all the details, but just hit the high points! The Sunday before Christmas, we celebrated with my dad's side of the family at my great grandmother's house which was so much fun! Christmas Eve, Drew and I went to Rockwood early to spend some time with Grandad, Granna, Mark and Katie. Bradley joined us a little later in the day...he had to work some that morning. Then it was off to my grandparents house to open gifts and eat at about 6:00. We got up Christmas morning and opened our stockings, played with some of our new toys, and then headed back to Rockwood to have lunch at Papaw and Mamaw Butler's. After all that celebrating we were definitely exhausted, but had such a great first Christmas with Drew! I will have to admit that he liked that paper and ribbon more than the gifts, but I'm sure that will all change by next year. I thought I would just post a couple of pictures from all the different stops. Hope everyone had a great time with family and friends!

I've worked the last four days straight (very busy at the office this time of year), so I was in some serious need of Mommy and Drew time! We hung out here and played most of the morning, but after Drew's nap it was off to the mall to pick up a couple of things...you know Drew wanted to do that! Anyway, while I was at the mall I noticed that the Santa line wasn't obnoxiously long, so I thought I would give it a try. I really hadn't planned on stopping to visit with Santa, so Drew wasn't dressed in his Christmas attire as you'll notice in the picture. To my surprise, Drew was fine with sitting on Santa's lap...he has been having stranger issues lately, so I didn't know how he would act. He was much more into the gingerbread cookie that Santa gave him than in Santa himself. Just thought I would share Drew's first meet with Santa! Oh yeah, they must have fired last years Santa because this one was super sweet!

This weekend we had a couple of Christmas parties to attend. Friday night, we celebrated with all the high school leaders at our church. We went to the youth pastors house, and ate lots of yummy desserts and played some fun games. It's always fun to be able to get together and act like a bunch of high school students!

Saturday we had Bradley's office Christmas party. One of my favorite things about his company is that they really love to demonstrate Christ's love by serving others! He really couldn't work for a better firm! A couple of years ago, they decided that for our annual get-together we would chose a family that is in need, and try to meet some of their needs. This year, the family consisted of a single mom with an aggressive form of breast cancer and her 11 year old son. I won't go into all the details, but because of the mom's health issues, she lost her job as a teacher's assistant, lost her insurance, is now home schooling her son, and is really struggling to meet her monthly financial responsibilities. She doesn't have any family to help out, so it is pretty much just her and her son, who she says is such a rock for their family. Well, I guess I went into more details than I thought! Anyway, the whole "Burkhart family" got together and brought food for the family, made cookies, brought and wrapped tons of gifts for both of them, and provided them with some much needed financial relief! I was telling Brad how good it is to be reminded that there are people who are in "real" need...it really puts things into perspective! I'm so thankful for a God who promises to supply our every need, and even more thankful that He knows those needs before we even ask him...what a loving Father! I know this is such a crazy time of year, but I just wanted to encourage everyone to remember why we celebrate! "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulders, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Now that's a gift worth celebrating!

I've been such a bad mom blogger lately! I didn't even take my camera to the first party, and my batteries were dead for Brad's office party. I did manage to get 2 pictures before it completely shut down, so I thought I would share!

Thanksgiving is definitely one of my favorite times of the year! I just love getting together with family, eating and celebrating everything we have to be thankful for...we don't need a holiday to do this by the way! This year, we had Thanksgiving at our house with Brad's mom and dad, his uncle Mike, aunt Lori, David and his girlfriend Amanda, and Daniel. No, I did not cook the turkey, I stuck to making a dessert and a couple of side dishes! It was so much fun to have everybody over and celebrate together! After eating at my aunt Lisa's house, granny Doris, papaw Carl, Lisa and Greg came over to visit and eat a little dessert. Drew had a good first Thanksgiving too, he did stick to mostly baby food for lunch, but we did let him try some mashed potatoes and sweet potato casserole...yummy! I hope everyone had a great weekend with family and friends!

I was talking to Katie the other night about how much of a slacker I have been lately when it comes to blogging! As I'm sure it is for everybody this time of year, things have been a little crazy for us...I'll spare you all the boring details! Anyway, I just wanted to give a quick update on Drew. He is just growing and changing so much everyday, I love it! I'm just trying to enjoy every little thing, because it is going by so so quickly! His little hands are on everything they can get to! I'm always amazed at how quick they can learn new things! He is trying so very hard to crawl, but hasn't got past the scooting thing just yet. He can definitely get to where he wants to go, but sometimes he gets frustrated at the process! He is such a busy baby, and just has way to much to do, for his legs and arms to not work like he wants them to:)! It's so funny to look at all the other "mom" blogs and see that all the kids Drew's age are doing pretty much the same stuff! Anyway, just thought I would share some pictures! I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving tomorrow, we all have so much to be thankful for!

I was tagged by Lacy to post the 4th picture of my 4th picture folder, and tell 4 things about that picture.

This picture was taken about 4 years ago when we lived in Seymour. In this picture is Lora, one of my very best friends and Katie, one of the high school girls in my small group who is now in college.
We were having a baby shower for Lora, who was also the youth pastor's wife. I was young and not a mother then...my how things change!
This was just a few months before her and her husband were called to serve at another church in Cleveland TN. Having such a precious friend move away was definitely a hard thing for me, but God taught me so much about His sovereignty during that time in my life!
This picture brought back tons of great memories for me! When Bradley and I lived in Seymour, God really gave us a heart for student ministry (which we still have to this day), He taught us how important church family is, and really blessed us with some of the most amazing friends! I would not trade the time that He had us there for anything!

BATH TIME!!

As much as he loves his ducky bathtub, Drew's favorite place to bathe is still our kitchen sink! He really loves how the water sprays out of the handle (for some reason I can't think of the proper name!) His newest thing is trying to drink it as we rinse him off. It's pretty hilarious because it's almost impossible to rinse your child when he is constantly trying to put his face in the water! Next time maybe I will get some action shots!

Saturday we hosted Bradley's office's annual football party. Their office has done this for the past several years. It is so much fun, everyone and their family just gets together for lots of food, fellowship and football! There are always tons of kids that come, so it was fun to get to add one to the mix this year! Since I didn't start taking pictures until after halftime, lots of the kiddos were already headed home for bedtime! We had Drew's 6 month pictures made a couple of weeks ago, and I just couldn't wait to share! It wasn't the best day for pictures! There were several things that just didn't go our way, one of them being that Drew didn't feel the best! Anyway, I was pretty bummed when we left because I didn't think we got any good shots. Well, I was pleasantly surprised when we got the proofs back! Kristy, my friend that took the pictures did a great job! These are just some of our proofs, so the pictures have the photographers logo on them and they aren't full resolution, but they work just fine for a blog slide show!

Drew had his first Halloween party Sunday at Eli's house. It was so much fun getting to hang out with everybody! Drew really enjoyed getting to spend time with his future basketball team! I figure Sailor will either be their coach, or their cheerleader...I guess her dad can decide which one:) Thanks so much Amanda for inviting us, I can't wait until next year! It will be so fun to see them all grown up! Here are some pictures from the evening!

Aunt Kate came for a visit this weekend, but I didn't get any pictures if you can believe it! Granna and Grandad came up and we all watched the UT game, and Aunt Kate stayed for a sleepover! Bradley plays in a soccer league on Sunday afternoons...yes I know, what doesn't he play! Anyway, it was so pretty on Sunday, Drew and I took the opportunity to go and cheer Daddy on! He played at a local park, so after the game we strolled around and made a quick stop at the swings so Drew could play! I think we had just as much fun as he did!

He was trying to play with a soccer ball, but it was a little bigger than his other toys. He couldn't quite fit it into his mouth, but you know he tried!

6 MONTH CHECK-UP!!!

Drew had his 6 month check-up last Thursday. He did so good with his shots, or at least Brad said so, I still don't go back for that! This was definitely his best night after getting his shots so far. He woke up from his nap like he hadn't even been to the doctor...hallelujah, you hate it when your little one is in pain! Just thought I would post his stats, he's still on track for that linebacker position:)

Well, I'm a little behind on this post, but Drew is 6 months old!! Wow, I can't believe that he is 1/2 of a year old! He is just growing a changing so much everyday...I love it! He has started sitting up, and gets better and better at it everyday. However, sometimes I think he is better at is than he actually is! I have let him face plant several times....I'm such a good mother:) We go for our 6 month check-up on Thursday, so I'll post his stats later. Here are just a few pics from last week.

Today, Drew and I were in his room working on sitting up and playing. One of his toys fell out of his basket and started playing music and counting. Well, I thought it was a pretty neat toy, but I couldn't get it to come on again...we've obviously never used it. I tried everything, and it just wouldn't start singing, so I hit the stupid thing on the floor...I didn't hit it on the floor out of anger, I just wanted to see if that would make it work:)! Well, it did, and it also cracked Drew up. I don't think it was the actual toy that he thought was funny, but I think it was me hitting it on the floor. I think it scared him a little, and then he just thought it was hilarious! It was so funny, after the toy would stop singing, he would just look up at me like "please do it again momma!" Just had to share!!

This was the funny toy! If anybody knows how to work it without hitting it on the floor, please feel free to share:)

ENJOYING THE FALL WEATHER!

Drew got to try out our neighbor's swing today! They have two little boys, and have a swing on their porch that they use all of the time. She has been telling me to bring Drew over to try it, so today we did. It was so pretty outside, and I'm not sure how much longer these nice days are going to last, so we thought we would take advantage of it! Anyway, Drew loved their swing! I'm pretty sure we will have to get one very soon!!

I was worried that he would hit his head on the back, so I put a blanket back there. Well, that was until Bradley convinced me that I was being an overprotective mother:)

My grandparents have been on vacation for the last couple of weeks, and they came home on Saturday afternoon. They do this every year, but this year was different because they usually come up to our house every Tuesday and Thursday and watch Drew while I work. Luckily, my friend Susan recommended the girl that keeps her son Noah, so I took Drew to her for the last couple of weeks. She did such a great job with him, and Drew really enjoyed playing with her kids and baby Noah! However, I was definitely reminded how blessed we are to have such great grandparents that are willing to come keep Drew at our house for us on a regular basis!! We went down on Saturday to say welcome back!

Drew was trying to eat the plush ice cream that they brought him back from vacation. It won't be long before he is eating the real thing!

FEELING MUCH BETTER!!!!

Tuesday night, Bradley and I had a banquet to go to, so Granna and Grandad came up and watched Drew for us. Before we left, we noticed that he was more fussy than normal, and that he had a runny nose and a little cough. That night when we got home, Drew was not feeling good at all! I think we all probably got about 3 hours of sleep total that night...I had forgot what that was like! Wednesday morning early, he acted pretty good, but was still really congested. Well, by 9:30 he was crying uncontrollably! Pretty much the entire morning and afternoon, I couldn't get him to eat, sleep, or stop crying...it was so pitiful!! Our pediatrician closes half day on Wednesday, but our sweet friend Rachel, Drew's Nurse Practitioner, met us at the office to check him out. It turns out that both of his ears were infected...oh my! We have since been taking an antibiotic and ear drops, and Drew is doing much better! It was such a rough day on Wednesday, I think I cried almost as much as Drew! It is just so awful when your baby is in pain and you can't do anything to help him!! It definitely made me so thankful that for the most part, Drew is a happy, healthy little boy!! Anyway, Drew is almost completely back to normal...praise the Lord! Hopefully we won't have to deal with anymore infections anytime soon...I'm not sure if mom can handle it:)

Monday, I had lunch with my sweet friends Sarah, Jennifer, Elisa and her little girl Anna Kate. I know I have talked about Anna Kate before, but she was born 2 days after Drew, and is just the sweetest little thing. I know it's a little early, but I'm pretty sure Anna Kate is Drew's future wife! I think they are so cute together! Thanks girls for the lunch date, we had a great time!!

HIGH SCHOOL REUNION!!!!

This weekend, we had our 10 year class reunion...wow, I can't believe it has been that long! Friday night, we went to the Rockwood vs. Harriman football game, and Saturday we had a picnic lunch at the Roane County Park. It was so much fun getting to see everybody! I was surprised at how many people I actually had not seen since we graduated. We had a better turn out at the park than we did at the ballgame, lots of people brought their families so it was fun to get to see everybody's children. Friday night before the game, I met with Darby, Kellye and LeeAnn for dinner...we missed you Lace! It was so great to get to spend some time with you guys, we definitley need to do that more often!! I thought I would share some of our reunion!

Wheeew, I was so behind on posting! I can't believe that I just did 4 posts in a row, I will keep up better next time!! While I was at it, I did want to give a quick update of Drew. He still growing like a weed and still talking pretty much nonstop! He is rolling over like crazy, it's hard to even get him to be still to get his clothes on him...I'm sure I have a lot of chasing around in my future! Anyway, on to the important stuff, Drew got his 2 bottom teeth last week!! Well, actually one of them came in on Wednesday and the other one on Friday!! It is so funny, I've never thought stuff like this was a big deal, but now I do! I think I actually almost shed a tear before calling all our family and telling them:) I guess because it's just another sign that he is growing up too quickly! Who knows what I'll do when he starts walking:)

Saturday, we went to Rockwood to enjoy a day of family time and football! Our first stop was to my Papaw Troy's for the annual Melton family reunion. This was the first time that Drew had met his Great Papaw Troy, and his Great Granny Sandi, so that was so fun! Then it was off to Bradley's parents to watch the game and celebrate my birthday. Katie and all the grandparents were there to help celebrate. We had such a good time hanging out with everybody, but we definitely hated the outcome of the UT game. I think we were just glad we weren't there to see it in person! Thanks for all the yummy food and birthday goodies, I love ya'll!!

ELLE BOUTIQUE FASHION SHOW!!

Our friends Jennifer and Sarah own Elle Boutique in Turkey Creek. They had a runway fashion show in Market Square on Friday night that I participated in...yes, please pick yourself up off the floor from laughing. When Sarah asked, of course I laughed and said no, but she is pretty pushy! I came home and told Bradley that I agreed to model for them, and he almost died laughing and told me I better get on utube and figure out how to walk like a model! Of course I didn't go that far! There were 12 girls that modeled clothes from Elle, and I was by far the oldest! Most of them were in high school and college, and did I mention they were all about a size 0 and adorable...talk about feeling like a mom!! It was pretty crazy, we each modeled 3 different outfits, so we had to quickly change backstage in order to get back out there with our other outfit on...talk about nervous! Anyway, I wanted to share a couple of pictures from the night. I'm pretty sure America's Next Top Model won't be calling anytime soon, but I'll have to admit that I did have a pretty good time! If nothing else, I got to wear some super cute clothes that I wouldn't normally wear, and it definitely gave Bradley and I something to laugh at!

Brooke, a girl that I work with is getting married in October so all the ladies at work threw her a little shower last week. We had such a good time, we even played a game that was pretty fun...if there is such a wedding shower game! I don't talk about work too often, but I went back two days a week a couple of months after Drew was born. I really love the girls I work with, they are definitely friends, not just co-workers! When I come back to work on Tuesdays, they are always ready to hear the latest Drew news, and they're always anxious for me to bring him in for a visit. It's just such a blessing to be able to work with people that really care about you, and treat you like family! Thanks girls for being so great to work with....well, most of the time:)

TIME FOR A LITTLE BIBLE STUDY!!!!

Well, we officially started our high school small groups back up last week. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it before, but Bradley and I both lead a group of 10th grade boys and girls in a small group bible study....not together of course, and we absolutely love it! When we were in Seymour, God really impressed a love for students on our hearts! I'm so thankful for that, and for everything that God has taught us in the six years He has placed us in that ministry! I wasn't really sure that I was going to do it this year because of Drew, but it's funny when God calls you to something, He doesn't let you off that easy! I use the "Drew" excuse for several things, but it wouldn't work for this:) I'm so excited to see what He has in store for this year! I'm always amazed at how much God teaches me through them! I just wanted to share a few pictures of the group this year! We meet at our house on Wednesday nights, so it really works out good with Drew...it's amazing how God always works out the small stuff!

THE MANY LANGUAGES OF DREW!!

Since Drew has discovered that he has a voice, he uses it nonstop! It is so funny because when he figures out that he can make a different sound, he will do that sound all day for a couple days, and then it is on to another new sound. I just thought I would post several videos of him talking, and yes I know there are four videos...I'm an out of control mom!! Bradley is standing behind me right now saying "you're not really going to post those videos are you"? Well, I guess you know the answer to that:)

This one is his singing/howling at the moon voice! He usually serenades me in the morning...aren't I so lucky!!

I think it sounds and looks like he is giving me a piece of his mind here....notice the throwing of his fist in the air! He is obviously very passionate about what he is saying:) (sorry the video quality isn't very good).

This is obviously his whiny voice...not my favorite! It's just so funny how they are born with ability to whine when they're not happy, or just because they feel like it! It's also funny how they can turn it off and on when they want to!

This one is his more high pitched scream! He likes to use this one in the car and when he is talking to the animals on his activity mat! It also sounds like he is trying to compete with the TV...I promise it's not that loud, I was standing right next to it.

DREW'S FIRST BEACH TRIP!!!!

We just got home from our first trip to the beach with Drew!! One of our good friends Sarah invited us to her parents house in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. When we went last year, Bradley and I had just found out that we were pregnant, so it was neat to see the difference a year makes!! I was a little more hesitant about going this year, because we would be the only couple taking a child. After some reassuring from our friends, we decided to go and take Drew with us....I'm so glad we did! We don't really do a whole lot while were there. We cook dinner most nights, and just lay on the beach during the day, so we thought this would probably be a great time to see how Drew would do on vacation. Bradley was such a great daddy and let Drew hang out with him and the other guys during the day while mommy and the other girls sun bathed! Of course the guys would come out some to play, but they really preferred playing video games in the air conditioned house! Thanks Sarah for letting us stay at the beach house with you guys, we had a such great time!! I just wanted to post some pictures from the week!
